Water Street Cafe is located on the corner of Water Street and Bridge Street in beautiful downtown Gardiner. We are directly across the street from the Gardiner Post Office.
Husband and wife team Amy Rees and Robert Lash opened Water Street Cafe in the fall of 2011. In 2012 we were joined by Walter Loeman, a long time Portland area Restaurateur and gifted Five Star Chef (Walter’s Restaurant, Profetto’s, Cotton Street Cantena, Joe’s Boat House, etc…). John Sawyer (Rob & Amy’s son) works with Walter in the kitchen and is a fabulous Barista.
Water Street Cafe focuses on locally sourced food, to provide delightful and unique farm-to-table cuisine at a reasonable price. We are currently open for breakfast and lunch, and will be open for dinner soon. We serve grass-fed beef from Oaklands Farm here in Gardiner, and purchase produce from Bridge Farm in nearby Dresden.
We feature micro-roasted coffees, such as Rock City Coffee from Rockland Maine. Our top of the line Italian Rancilio espresso maker, and the training that we’ve gone through to operate it, guarantee you the perfect espresso drink, every time. We’ve had numerous people tell us it’s the best espresso they’ve had in Maine.
Please stop in and see us. Bring a friend, enjoy some good food and coffee and relax in our chic informal atmosphere.
Our hours are Tuesday – Friday 7:00am-4:00pm and Saturday 7:30am – 2:30pm
